GETTING STARTED:
DENTAL IMPLANTS - GET "DIGITAL" PANORAMIC X-RAY
For dental implants, you need a "digital" Panoramic X-ray. "Digital" just means that the X-ray is a digital file that will be sent to you in an email. It is usually a .jpeg file. This is a one slide X-ray that shows the condition of the teeth and more importantly the condition of the bone where the implants will be placed. A "digital" Panoramic X-ray should cost about $100.
Note - you DO NOT NEED a 3D scan. This is a whole series of X-rays. The problem is that the 3D file is every big and it can not be sent via email. If you are quoted a cost of about $300, this is 3D and you do not need that. There is enough information on a Panoramic to get a very good idea of the extent of the dental work you will need.
To get Pano, Google dental clinic with your ZIP code. Call a few. Tell them you just want to come in for a "digital" Panoramic. You do not want a consultation or cleaning. It takes 2 mins and cost $100. Most dental clinics will take you.
